Allison Rossett is Professor Emerita of Educational Technology, San Diego State University
After 36 years as a university professor, Dr. Allison Rossett is now Professor Emerita of Educational Technology at San Diego State University.
Currently, Dr. Rossett serves as consultant to government agencies and corporations in learning and performance systems. She has worked on topics as diverse as software sales, telecommunications, certifying retirement specialists, transporting animals at the zoo, fast food customer service, and community college instructor effectiveness. She develops learning professionals in instructional design and technology and conducts studies related to needs, capacity, strategy and excellence in the learning enterprise.
Allison was honored with appointment as a Distinguished Fellow of the US Navy’s Learning Strategies Consortium and also was appointed to the Army Distributed Learning Advisory Committee through a White House screening process. She is now a member of the Defense Acquisition University Board of Visitors.
Profiled in T&D magazine, Allison is a member of the TRAINING HRD Hall of Fame and was recognized by ASTD for her remarkable career of contributions to workplace learning and technology. Allison also received ISPI’s highest award, Member for Life, and their 2001 and 1999 Instructional Communications Award for two books, Beyond the Podium: Delivering Training and Performance to a Digital World, and First Things Fast: A Handbook for Performance Analysis. Allison was interviewed for a feature in eLearn Magazine. She is on the Board for Chief Learning Officer and in 2015 received their Norm Kamikow award. She is a honored as a MASTER by the Elearning Guild. Rossett has served on the international Boards for ATD and ISPI and is now a Trustee at Arcadia University near Philadelphia.
